Serving Calgarians and the Community Since the 1950s
Downtown Vision Care has been serving Calgarians and area residents since the 1950s when the clinic was founded by Dr. Charles Ross. Many of our staff and patients have been with us for decades.
We serve on various committees related to vision care including the Alberta College of Optometrists council, the competence committee, the registration committee, and the Optometry Examining Board of Canada. We participate in clinical research studies. Some of our doctors have also participated in eye care missions in developing countries.
We support Canadian Vision Care, a charity founded in 1981 by a group of like-minded, service-oriented optometrists. Dr. Paul Dame and Dr. Ken Gellatly joined and volunteered shortly after. Dr. Norris started volunteering when she graduated and is very involved. Now Dr. Kloepfer has added his support.
