Serving Calgarians and the Community Since the 1950s
Downtown Vision Care has been serving Calgarians and area residents since the 1950s when the clinic was founded by Dr. Charles Ross. Many of our staff and patients have been with us for decades.
We serve on various committees related to vision care including the Alberta College of Optometrists council, the competence committee, the registration committee, and the Optometry Examining Board of Canada. We participate in clinical research studies. Some of our doctors have also participated in eye care missions in developing countries.
We support Canadian Vision Care, a charity founded in 1981 by a group of like-minded, service-oriented optometrists. Dr. Paul Dame and Dr. Ken Gellatly joined and volunteered shortly after. Dr. Norris started volunteering when she graduated and is very involved. Now Dr. Kloepfer has added his support.
Why Choose Us?
We offer expert eye care in a fun and relaxing clinic. Everyone is so busy these days, our goal is to provide you with the most effective and efficient service possible. Our clinic is conveniently located downtown. We strive to not get behind during the day of appointments. We’ve built long-lasting relationships with suppliers and vendors so product comes quickly and has great warranties.
Onsite Optical Lab
For many lenses, we offer same day service through our onsite optical lab, so you don’t have to make a second trip back to our office. We also carry a very large inventory of contact lenses so you don’t have to return. If we don't have your contact lenses in stock, we can courier them or direct ship them to you.
